The Italy Jubilee, also known as the Holy Year, is a significant event in the Catholic Church that occurs every 25 years. It is a time of spiritual renewal and celebration, drawing a large number of pilgrims to Rome.

The 2025 Jubilee officially begins on December 24, 2024, with the ceremonial opening of the Holy Doors. On this day, the four major basilicas in Rome — St. Peter’s, St. John Lateran, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and St. Mary Major—will open their doors to mark the start of the Jubilee year. Throughout 2025, most Jubilee activities will take place at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican and St. Peter’s Square.
